About James
James has a unique voice that people remember weeks and months after first hearing it. He leverages his acting skills into his work as a voice talent to pull listeners into the story being told. James uses his rich baritone to touch people’s lives – as a trusted friend, a relatable boss, a Shakespearean king, or the guy next door. And his rich life experience adds authenticity to a variety of projects from Commercials to Audiobooks, PSAs to Videogames, On-hold messages to lengthy Narration, and Everything in between. “As a voice actor, I bring compassion and meaningful connection to fiction and non-fiction alike. I can handle the fancy words and complex emotions.” James is a member of V. O. Dojo who has trained with Tish Hicks for several years reading hundreds of scripts with weekly coaching. He has also studied with Andy Roth. Living on the coast of Maine, James enjoys the ocean and seasonal changes. He has a BA in philosophy and has been a self-employed carpenter for 40 years who, for eight years, wrote a nationally syndicated column on home repair. James is frequently seen acting on stages in New England and has been in two productions at LaMama on the Lower East Side NYC. James has a studio in the home he shares with the poet and visual artist Lois Anne.
